If you want to get the right online exposure and build your audience, it’s important that you find ways to stand out from other competitors to mark your footprint.
Quran Majeed is one of such projects which was under PakData (Pakistan Data Management Services). It’s a Quran app that was released in 2010 with multiple options for users to have a full-on Quran experience. They contacted us and wanted our help to reach out to millions of Muslims online.
When we took a look at the Quran Majeed project, we noticed one major downside: it wasn’t promoted as a stand-alone product. It was like most of their projects listed under their website PakData.
5 Step Action Plan
We outlined a 5 step action plan for Quran Majeed to get started:
- Strategy:
Our first step was to make it a stand-alone brand with the focus on serving the Ummah. Our role was to tap into the existing needs of our Ummah through the app. This required creating a unique space for the app which would attract the right audience.
- Website
To make it a stand-alone brand, we need to build a website to bring the brand into life. So we created a simple site for the Quran Majeed App.
We also designed an introductory video to introduce the Quran Majeed App to their audience, to show them the features of the app – what we have in store for them.
- Social Media
The next step was to reach out to the right audience. We all know that the best way to do so is to reach out through social media platforms. So we created 3 social media distributions: a Facebook page, an Instagram page and a YouTube channel to keep it simple and effective.
- Build & Engage
Before promoting the app, we strategically planned to build the audience first to let them get to know, like and trust the brand. So we designed inspirational quotes from the Quran and shared them through their social media pages on Facebook and Instagram. Alhamdulillah, they have now 700k+ followers in under just 2 years.
We also researched some Quran related blog post ideas and wrote weekly blog articles which were published on Quran Majeed’s website which were also shared with their followers across their social media pages.
- Promote
After successfully starting to build and engage the audience, we decided that it’s time to promote the app as the audience now knows the brand and what they can deliver. This means, there’s a high possibility of them using the app and getting the full benefit out of it.
We set up the ad campaigns on Facebook and Instagram as we had already established a successful online exposure through social media for Quran Majeed. We used the introductory video to promote the app, and we used our entire audience base we have on Halal.Ad to reach out to as many as we can.
The Result? 40+ Million Downloads!
